Screenwriter of "Sister, Daughter" IMDb

In 2015, Nathaniel Arcand asked if I could write a script for him. I did and it became the 26 minute film "Sister, Daughter".

Sister, Daughter was Winner for best live short film at the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco Nov 2016. It is a 26 minute drama based on the personal struggles of a family grieving from the death of their matriarch and the search by a son and his father for their missing sister, daughter. Directed by and starring Nathaniel Arcand with co-star Curtis Ahenakew introducing Amanda Murray. Written by Mark Redsky. A 3 Chiefs Film.

"Sister, Daughter" gave me my first Screenwriter credit on IMDb.

Feature comedy script available:

ROBOT ZOMBIES a feature length screenplay by Mark Redsky

Kirk and Manny. (The Main Characters)

I got the idea for Kirk and Manny while hanging out with a buddy of mine. We joked around, often trying to one up each other by taking verbal shots back and forth (and sometimes shots). We found ourselves funny and I thought others would too.

Since buddy movies like Smoke Signals, Shanghai Knights and lately Harold and Kumar have been successful, I felt it was worthwhile to develop a story about two First Nations friends and their antics.

Kirk, is the impulsive, dreamer – schemer who drives at getting them going, usually in the wrong direction.

Kirk's friendly heavyset buddy Manny, usually follows along attempting to be the voice of reason.
Always wanting money, the guys work harder at not working, than just doing a job. This gets them into trouble. The laughs pile up as Kirk and Manny stumble along on "chance and Indian ways" as they try to outsmart brain-dead zombies.
The story is zany and fun, a little Dance Me Outside meets The Beach Combers, with interesting and diverse characters all set on a collision course with destiny.

Shooting a 4 day promo-video for one of my scripts

FADE IN:

As an actor I have to audition to get actor parts. So I thought, "Why not shoot a short preview for my half-hour sci-fi comedy script "The Gallant".

Logline: The small crew of the salvage vessel, The Gallant, is excited in finding a large container adrift in deep space, however its contents are worthless and now a scary creature is loose.

DAY 1: Sunday May 29, 2011 "THE MARLONS".
- The show's deep space bad guys and the bane of Captain Stone's dream of easy, forbidden salvage.

It was nice to have Garry N. Little working together with Jason Wingham and Micheal Cound again. They performed the deep-space aliens the Marlons. "Fish" quips Captain Stone.

The actors were professional as well as creative with their wardrobes. The crew did well and the Hair/ Make-up women were wonderful and helpful.

Eddy and Fernanda took most of the stills. Juhli Caldwell took the rest. Bob Phipps supplied some interesting props and wardrobe.

DAY 2: "THE GALLEY" and "The crew quarters". July.

The Galley shoot was interesting as Cook's special effect gimmick was tricky. Sam Bob proved to be a real treasure to the scene.

It was great practice for the actors and for me as an actor and director. (Not to mention my lighting.)

DAY 3: "THE CARGO BAY" We were only able to use a small container in half the warehouse isle as it was unexpectedly busy and the place was almost full. The day was short and sweet and we had a good time.

DAY 4: August 14, 2011 "Narrator" and "Computer". I ran into Eugene Lipinski and he kindly offered to voice the "Narrator" as well as offering up his student and neighbour Alvin Parker to be the voice of the ship's "Computer". We had a nice recording session and a few laughs.
